What is a good replacement for Norton Internet Security?

I hate Norton Internet Security! It seems like nothing but problems for my computer. Are there some good free downloads that I could replace it with? I heard that if I download something else it will automatically cancel out Norton. Is that true and what would you recommend? Thanks so much!

1. mcafee i have had it for a few years, and it has never given me a problem
2. There are a number of very good tools, many of which are free, that may suit your needs. McAfee has already been mentioned and I agree, it is an excellent tool. You may also want to check in to ZoneAlarm. I used it for years and really liked it. It was, in my opinion, worth the extra money to get the pro version. Kerio, Agnitum Outpost, Sygate, R-Firewall, and Ghostwall are also quite good. I would recommend trying ZoneAlarm first and see if it suits your needs. If not, try one of the other choices listed above.
3. Hello Akadole, My son installed Trend Micro PC-cillin for me on this computer. It appears to be so much better than the previous Norton and Mcafee that I used.
