When I try and install Norton Internet security my pc freezes, what should I do?
First of all I need to know if norton internet security will even work to remove Anti-virus 2009. And second, when I try and install it my pc freezes, every time. I don't know why it does this, When I put the disc in I start the install and it says Initializing...please wait. Then my pc freezes. Should I just get it restored again for the 3rd time in less than 2 months or is there another way out.

- No, Norton will not remove antivirus 2009. It is possible that norton freezes your computer, because Norton is a program that takes up an enormous amount of RAM and CPU Unless you have 3 or 4GB of RAM, I would not install it. To remove Antivirus 2009 you should just google for remove Antiviurs 2009 This will give you plenty of sites with instructions how to remove it.
- Hi Eric, This is Mike from the Norton Authorized Support Team. It appears that the "Anti-Virus 2009" infection is causing problems with the installation of Norton Internet Security. Symantec does have the ability to remove this infection and we also have a manual removal process that you can follow if it is not removed by doing a "Full System Scan." The first step you should take is to use the Norton Online Security Scanner. Using Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher, click on the link below and follow the instructions. http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/WelcomePage.asp When the scan is complete you should then restart your computer and make sure that you do not have any other third-party security software installed which may conflict with the installation of Norton Internet Security. Next, follow the instructions below to properly remove and reinstall Norton Internet Security. 1. Click on the following link to download the Norton Removal Tool: http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039?Open&docid=2001074957656166&nsf=sunset-c2002kb.nsf&view=0 2. After you run the tool, please restart your computer. Then log in to Windows again and run the removal tool again. Restart your computer after it is finished running the second time as well. 3. Make sure that your internet connection is working properly, and then reinstall Norton Internet Security. 4. When the installation is complete, launch Norton Internet Security and manually run LiveUpdate. 5. When the LiveUpdate process is complete, restart your computer into Windows Safe Mode, launch Norton Internet Security and perform a "Full System Scan." If Norton Internet Security is unable to remove the infection, please carefully follow the instructions in the following document to manually remove the infection. http://www.symantec.com/security_response/writeup.jsp?docid=2008-082521-2037-99&tabid=3 Thank you, Mike Michael York Norton Authorized Support Team Symantec Corporation
- in safe mode F8 run malwarebytes anti-malware and SUPERAntispyware, and what they find you delete it manually. then run ccleaner to clean your pc, and mvregclean, to clean registry. what mvregclean find you remove because the key is there but not the file ,folder or program. even you reformat and it finds anything remove dont be afraid. dont forget when you install this software to update them, and do an update every day then restore untill before you get infected. m
- Its better for you to use Spybot Search and Destroy or Malwarebytes because both two can delete most of the malware and spyware. For AntiVirus, I recommend you Avast or Avira. I think you may have read an article before that say avast and avira are better than avg. Here is the download link : Spybot Search and Destroy http://moneylessmax.blogspot.com/2008/12/spybot-search-destroy.html Malwarebytes Anti Malware http://moneylessmax.blogspot.com/2008/12/malwarebytes.html Avast Home Edition http://moneylessmax.blogspot.com/2008/11/avast-home-edition-is-complete-icsa.html Avira AntiVirus http://moneylessmax.blogspot.com/2008/11/avira-antivir-personal.html Hope this will help.
