Norton Security Suite

Can I run Norton security suite in the background and use the internet at the same time?

I want to know if will affect the scan or harm anything.

  1. Yes, might be a bit slow, but it is fine
  2. You can run Norton in the background behind any programs except software installers. Because Norton is reading the drive continuously, it will slow down other programs in the foreground, so I wouldn't run it behind programs that are highly disk dependent or need maximum speed, like video or audio production software. If you are using Skype or viewing video over the 'net, you may experience some glitching.
  3. You can, but Norton Security Suite is going to seriously slow down your system.
  4. Check your norton settings ,mcafee has a setting called, scan using minimal resources, mean that if i check the box the scan will go faster but other programs will slow down ,so i leave it uncheck for a slow scan and using the internet at normal speed
  5. You can. But if you go on a infected website it might not get the virus if the virus went to a scaned file and the scanner has already done it. It is just slow but it is ok to do so. I do it. Use www.siteadvisor.com to check if websites are safe read the comments aswell mcafee makes mistakes sometimes for some reason. Kind Regards
  6. it will be fine, may have a little lag. Best to schedule it for a time when your computer is on but your not using it.
