Is Norton Internet Security really that bad & if you wanted a subscribed alternative which brand would you use?
An alternative internet security software by a reputable manufacturer, you purchase either from a store or online Kapersky? Trent? Others - not hard to find in stores How would you compare them to Symantec's Norton? Are the other brands as, or more "resource/capability hungry" as Norton is?

- McAfee -- probably the best security software, just download it online (or buy it in any retail store). Good question about resource usage -- although for security software, I would be more concerned if it wasn't doing something all the time -- just my opinion.
- Microsoft security essential the best industrial certified antivirus for windows
- Kaspersky is pretty well rated, and I know several persons who are using it successfully. There is some concern that instructions might be a bit "sparse," and that the firewall can be a bit hard to navigate. I don't believe it's quite as good a deal as Norton. Although McAfee isn't as far up in the ratings as it once was, I'd still recommend it, though I believe that Norton is a bit more all inclusive in catching bad stuff. I know very little about Trent. Overall, I believe you're best going with McAfee.
- The best is ESET NOD 32 http://www.eset.com/home/compare-eset-to-competition But Norton is very good too I would just get the Antivirus I run the NOD 32 Antivirus not the whole suite http://www.virusbtn.com/vb100/latest_comparative/index the best antivirus are along the top right, but ESET NOD 32 is the best since 1998 hope this helps
