I have Norton Security Suite and it won't let me use ANY IM program at all?

That pretty much says it all. I can't find any way to customize those particular settings and I'm unfamiliar with the program. The "help" guide is useless and the website irrelevant, Any help would be much appreciated.

I don't have an answer to your actual question (how to configure Norton), but one possible option is to remove it completely from your computer and get something better (Nod32, AVG or anything at all). Speaking as a former Symantec tech-support employee: Norton Security Suite / Antivirus / whatever is useless, and only causes problems. (I quit a couple of years ago, which is why I'm not familiar with the configuration of the current versions of Norton X.)
