What is better? The free version of avast antivirus or symantec endpoint protection?

I am able to get the full version of symantec endpoint protection for free..... however i have heard alot of good things about avast so my question is which one is better?

1. I not recommended you to use avast: Antivir is the better or Microsoft security essential.
2. I would avoid any Norton or McAfee products as they're horrendously bloated. I'd recommend either Avast or AVG.
3. As I answered another person who asked, there is no such thing as a "better" AV program. The scan engines are all programmed differently. Some programs may detect certain things, while others will not. Basically, it all depends on what you're more comfortable with, because no AV scanner is ever going to fully protect any computer on this planet. 4. Free Version of Avast Antivirus is more than enough for any home PC user. It is now very powerful (onwards 5.<something> version). It's boot time scan feature is very good. I am using it from last 3 years and not getting any problem it works very nice. :)
5. Spend a bit of money and buy nod32 or bitdefender, I have bit defender, bought it new from ebay £20. It works far far far more then enough.
