McAfee or Norton security suite?
Which is better? which may slowdown the computer performance? McAfee looks always updating when you want to do other jobs, and keep turning off to get your attention.

- McAfee will play havoc with your pc if you're looking for speed... it is very slow, annoying, and resource hogging. it will add about 30-40 seconds to your boot time. Norton, aside from the problems it had in the last 2 months... is a pretty good antivirus, it will still add about 10 seconds to your boot time, but that's reasonable. If you go with Norton, get the 360 Suite. it is VERY nice, and includes Antivirus, antispyware, anti-spam, website rating (toolbar), and Backup tool. Even with all these tools, it barely slows down my computer. If you decide to go with Norton 360 please read this: About what happened last month, Norton started to recognize some windows components as viruses due to a faulty update. All it did was turn those processes off... mainly the Spoolsv.exe process (This is the printer spooling process, and prevented many from being able to print). To fix this, all you do is go to: Start >> Run Type "msconfig.exe" (without the quotes) and click >> OK when it comes up, go to the general tab (it should open in this by default) and click the "Normal Startup" bubble, then click "OK" and reboot your computer.

- They are both equally as good. It's your choice. I used to use Norton. It was excellent. My brother-in-law uses McAfee and loves it.
