Norton Security Suite

What is better McAfee Security Center or Norton Security Suite?

Public Comments

  1. McAfee all the way!
  2. They both suck. They both use a ton a resources. Get AVG or Kaspersky, both are good and cost about the same if not less then the two you mentioned.
  3. norton in a heavy software and may decrease speed of the system, but it is best for systems that supports it. mcafee could be used in case norton doesn't works well and leads to slow down.
  4. norton is very slow,it keeps asking for permissions where mcafe automatically allows outgoing sigals and learns which ones you use regularly, although why are you paying for a suite when you can have better for free such as avast nd windows firewall and threatfire ad superantispyware and ccleaner, all fre to do different jobs on your pc.the word free,is a word i like.
  5. I can only tell you of my experiences with both... I had MSC installed on 3 computers in my home and it DRAMATICALLY slowed down each of them. It also runs an update every once in a while that all but hangs your system until its done. I was very unhappy with it, but it was a FREEBIE from my cable company, so I limped along. THEN this year, (I imagine due to complaints) my cable company began offering NSS instead, even gave instructions on how to uninstall MSC. I've been using NSS since the beginning of year and I love it. Lightweight, un-intrusive and smart. NSS (version 3.8.0.41) get my vote 110%.
  6. I'd have to say McAfee, as Norton uses up a little bit more RAM, but they are both crap. I suggest downloading avast! and MalwareBytes AntiMalware instead, or if you really want to pay, check out some of these commercial Internet Security Suites: http://askbobrankin.com/internet_security_suites.html
