Should I get Norton Security Suite?
I am currently using AVG Free. Comcast is currently offering Norton Security Suite (basically Norton 360 3.0) for free for comcast subscribers. Should I switch to it? Or keep AVG? I'm running an extremely fast computer by the way. So I don't care if it slows me down a little.

- Avast is incrementially better. And both are better than Norton, when it comes to speed and virus detection. Unless you really want to pay for something that's statistically worse, I mean.
- You dont need an antivirus if you know what you're doing on a computer
- Anything is better than AVG...
- I used to use Norton and always had nothing but problems with it. I hear a lot of complaints about it too. Stick with AVG free. I use it now and have remained problem free with it. Even if you get Norton for free, it won't be worth the aggravation.
- norton has a larger footprint and what happens if one part of norton suite fails. not hawkin anything but i use avast pro and nod32 is very good. nortons is good too, but just the virus part. i would always have a good malware scanner too, no matter what you choose. real time is best
- My son in law took that offer and it jacked up his computer. He had a hell of a time getting Norton entirely off of it too. I turned him on to Avast 5.0 free edition and he loves it. So, no, I wouldn't take it if I were you.
- Nothing is worse than AVG, point blank period. I can't tell you how many customers whose computer I have had to clean up who were running AVG. I'm currently testing Microsoft Security Essentials (FREE), so far I'm impressed. It seems to use very little system resources, and has been keeping two of my computers clean and clear for a month now (1 Win7 & 1 Vista). I have been hearing more and more about Avast, but I'm still not convinced of it's superiority. Personally I don't mind Norton at all, but many people don't like it. I have had a lot of success with it in the past though I don't currently use it. If I had my way I'd still be using Windows Live OneCare, it is absolutely the best thing I've ever run, but Microsoft abandoned it in favor of offering a free program (Microsoft Security Essentials). I have recommended Kaspersky to many of my customers in the past, it seems to be excellent protection for a fair price.
