norton security suite 2008 is brilliant dont slow pc down at all..?

i had ca security suite b4 and now parental control in ca security suite is blocking my web sites still even though ive uninstalled it.. any ideas

1. Give it time - it will slow it down
2. CA = Computer Associates, anti virus software is more of a virus than a preventer. You will need to go to the CA website, locate your old software version and read-up on how to uninstall it properly. It is a pain in the permanent vertical smile. You might be required to call CA or reinstall the old software to download the uninstall tool, then reattempt to uninstall. I have found in the past the few systems I've had to remove the CA from is to uninstall the program, then clean the registry. Which I do not recommend for novices users, tinkering with the registry and not knowing what to delete or change can make your PC a big paperweight.
3. Download & use ccleaner to clean up your computer & remove leftovers from uninstalled programs.
