Norton Security Suite

What is the Best Antivirus Software out there?

I need to delete a virus from our family computer. Can someone tell me what is the best antivirus software that we should install in our computer?

  1. There are two types of antivirus softwares: the free ones and the paid ones. If you are online most of the time, I suggest you use the new Norton 360 or Kaspersky Internet Security. AVG has been voted as a favorite free antivirus, although there is a paid version of it which offers more features and options.
  2. NOD32 and Kaspersky are the best anti-virus that are free to try. AVG and Avast are the best free ones. ;) I use Clamwin but it doesn't have real time scanner, you need to scan manually.
  3. superantispyware & Malwarebytes download free from c/net free download.com
  4. I have Avast Antivirus in my home. It's free and my computer hasn't faced virus problems since I installed it. It is updated more than 4 times a day by a very active group of antivirus experts. Go to www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html to get it for free. Hope this helps!
  5. avast is d best one. For Latest Hack, Crack, Tips, Tricks, News from all over the globe visit http://techol.blogspot.com
  6. if you ask my opinion..i say none.. anti virus companies make those viruses for you to buy or patronize their anti-virus applications.. if your anti-virus is a free version..like AVG..there are viruses that can't be detected even if it is updated..only the version that you need to buy can detect that specific virus..[that was told to me by my friend] [a credit to him] but i suggest that you go to the anti-virus that offers you great functions.
  7. i have recently installed updated avg 8.0 .appears good.previouslyhad earlier version .no problems.had norton earlier ,stuffed my pc,be wary.firewall blocked every thing
  8. Antivirus software won't fix your computer. Reinstall Windows. Then get some real security to keep it infection-free. Good security requires a multi-layered approach, and the least important layer by far is running some kind of anti-malware program (in fact, if you take care of all the other layers, you don't even need an anti-malware program using up extra resources). In order of importance: 1. Create and use almost exclusively a limited user account instead of the default administrator account Windows sets you up with 2. Read up on social engineering and how to avoid it 3. Don't download illegal copies of software, music, or movies 4. Set Windows updates to install automatically 5. Make regular backups. If possible, back up your entire installation (using Norton Ghost or Acronis True Image)
