How do i disable Auto-Protect on Symantec Client Security?

I need to disable it for find out how to make an exclusion list becuase im trying to run a file that isn't a virus but symantec detects it as one. please help.

For Norton AntiVirus 2005, in the Options popup window that appears, select the period for which you want Auto-Protect turned off, and then click OK. A red circle with a slash through its center appears, which indicates that Auto-Protect is disabled.
