How come Windows Security Alert shows Symantec Endpoint Protection after uninstall?

I uninstalled Symantec Endpoint Protection from my Windows XP Media Center Edition 2002 SP3, and Windows Security Alert pops up like Symantec is still on my computer? P.S. Symantec Endpoint Protection refuses to let me install 11.5. It will go to installation, but once the information is gathered, Symantec won't install.

1. Remove the Old symantec files from REGEDIT and component services after that restart your computer . Then you can install 11.5 into your system.
