How do I delete Symantec antivirus on Vista?

I upgraded to Vista, but can't delete or uninstall Symantec Antivirus, which is not compatible. Also, I can't upgrade to the Vista compatible version either. Need help. Thanks.

1. I called symantec and they sent me to www.symantec.com\nrt and that downloaded the remover tool (yes it's FORWARD SLASH) ,but I'm not using vista.Try calling 18007456048, and good luck deciphering indianglish.
2. I know that with XP you should (need) to use the uninstaller provided by Symantec on their web site. Don't use add/remove programs or the built-in uninstaller as this does not do a clean uninstall. Vista should be the same. Go to Symantecs site and search for the uninstall program or Google it. Install the uninstaller to uninstall Symantec (huh?)
