How do I stop symantec from blocking systems that eliminate spyware?

On my vista laptop my pc says that it needs a spyware update and directs me to a website, then when I try and run it it says that symantec(i think thats how its spelled) says that auto-block or something has stopped it from running. How do I let the spyware-fixer run and cure my pc?

1. Symantec is NOT letting it in because it is a 'Remote' access that takes control of the computer. Either allow this site as an exception, or disable the symantec while you run it. DON'T forget to turn it back on if you turned it off.
